Browned-Butter Rice Crispy Treats

 

 



 

Ingredients 

-1 stick of butter
-1 16oz package mini-marshmallows
-7 cups rice crispy cereal
-1 tablespoon vanilla
-1 teaspoon salt
-Cooking spray
 

Directions 

In a large pan cook butter on med-low heat. Gently stir (don't leave the butter) until the fat in the butter starts to brown and has a nutty smell. Turn the heat down and immediately add the bag of marshmallows. Stir until marshmallows are completely melted. Stir in the vanilla and salt.Turn off the heat. Add the rice crispy cereal and gently fold until combined. Spray a 9x13 pan with cooking spray and spread the marshmallow mixture in the pan and gently press down. Don't forget to take a sample from the spoon to make sure its good...Let cool then cut into desired serving sizes. Enjoy! 

Cooking Tip 

When I am pressing down the marshmallow mixture I first spray my hand with cooking spray. This keeps the gooey marshmallow from sticking to my hands.
